Solidarity in Community
Immigrant Rights Collectives are a community network of volunteers created to protect and empower immigrant communities. Our volunteer network has come together to respond to the crisis imposed by the federal government’s abduction and detainment of our immigrant neighbors and the devastation that has resulted for their loved ones left behind.
Founded in January 2025, our mutual aid volunteer network serves as a hub for sharing information on Know Your Rights and provides a solidarity rooted in community-focused mutual aid model, with weekly grocery deliveries and fundraisers for families affected by detentions to help offset lost income and high legal fees.

Mutual aid is solidarity, not charity
Communities are strongest when we care for one another. When neighbors are affected by systems designed with cruelty to harm, mutual aid provides a way for all of us to respond with practical support, compassion, and collective action.
Immigrant Rights Collective (IRC) directly supports and encourages each other to take responsibility for caring for one another.
By sharing what we can and standing with one another, communities create networks of care that help neighbors navigate hardship and remind each other that we are not alone.

Rooted in the needs and priorities of impacted communities, our work focuses on three pillars: community education, community ICE watch, and community care.
Community Education
Interested in bringing community education and training to your organization or event? IRC currently offers 7 training opportunities designed for collaboration with community organizers and partners.

Know Your Rights Canvassing
The Community Education Team shares resources on legal protections and how to prepare for and respond to interactions with immigration enforcement through outreach & educational materials. The team also engages the public by canvassing and representing the organization at community events.
ICE Watch
Monitors, responds to, and documents real-time immigration enforcement activity. They provide accurate information, promote transparency, and help identify potential rights violations. ICE Watch also aims to reduce unnecessary fear by sharing verified updates. Volunteers connect families of detained individuals with the Community Care team.
Court Watch
A court watch involves observing public court proceedings to promote transparency, accountability, and community support through a visible presence. Community attendance may also encourage fairer proceedings and greater oversight.
Community Care
Supports families affected by immigration violence through mutual aid, helping locate detained loved ones and connecting them with trusted community resources and partners. Volunteers use trauma-informed practices and only provide support after obtained informed consent and ensuring families understand any potential risks.
